A wish, not a forecast
A coin buys an occasion. Your words stay in the well, and its answer is written to your day master and today’s branch — something to think with, never a decision made for you.
Opening the Hall of Blessings
Make a wish at the well, strike the wooden fish 108 times, and come back in a hundred days.

A coin buys an occasion. Your words stay in the well, and its answer is written to your day master and today’s branch — something to think with, never a decision made for you.
Striking is always free. Merit measures days only — coins cannot buy it and it cannot be cashed out; the nine grades take exactly a year.
One line per wish. After a hundred days the well asks whether it came true — fulfil it, or keep waiting.
A coin buys an occasion: your wish, kept in your ledger, and the well’s answer, written to your day master and today’s branch. It does not buy luck, and it is not a forecast.
Merit measures days: 108 strikes make a day, and the nine grades take exactly a year. Incense and a lamp only strike the fish for you, inside the same 108 a day.
Leave the line blank and hold the wish in mind. The well still answers — from your day master and today’s branch, not from your words.
A hundred days after a wish, the well asks in your ledger whether it came true. If it did, you fulfil it; if it is still on its way, the well keeps it for you.
Merit is kept on this device and does not follow you. Your wishes and the ledger live in your account and open wherever you sign in.
A wish is written into your account, so the well can ask about it a hundred days later. Striking is free, always, and stays on this device.
A ritual for the heart, not for fate
